What's New Across Paradise Road From Turnberry Towers

Walk past the guard gate at Turnberry Towers, cross Paradise Road at Karen Avenue, and for years the view on the other side was mostly background noise: a convention center you only noticed during CES week, and a hotel tower that felt more like scenery than a destination. That has quietly stopped being true.

Turnberry Towers sits on ten acres at Paradise Road and Karen Avenue, one block east of the Strip, its two 45-story towers holding 636 residences behind a guard-gated entrance with valet and round-the-clock concierge. Directly across the street is Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, a 64-acre property that borders the Las Vegas Convention Center to the south and the Las Vegas Country Club to the east. That whole cluster, your building, the street, the convention campus, the golf course, has spent the last eighteen months getting rebuilt, reconnected, and in one case, ranked number one in the city.

The block got a tunnel before it got a headline

In January 2025, Westgate and The Boring Company opened a Vegas Loop station at the resort's porte-cochere, connecting Westgate directly to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Resorts World Las Vegas by tunnel car. It is one stop in a system planned to eventually reach 68 miles of tunnel and more than 100 stations, with future connections mapped to Harry Reid International Airport, Allegiant Stadium, and the Strip itself.

"The addition of the Vegas Loop at Westgate demonstrates our commitment to innovation and convenience," said Cami Christensen, President and General Manager of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, when the station opened.

That station did not arrive on its own. The Las Vegas Convention Center finished a $600 million renovation of its 4.6 million-square-foot campus at the start of 2026, with CES serving as the first major trade show to move through the reimagined halls. The project added a new east entrance with an indoor lobby and an outdoor plaza featuring roughly 500 plants and shrubs, the kind of detail that changes how a place feels to walk past even if you never set foot inside for a trade show.

The steakhouse across the street outranked the Strip

Here is the fact that would have sounded implausible five years ago: Westgate's Edge Steakhouse is now rated the top restaurant and the top steakhouse in all of Las Vegas on TripAdvisor, and Fresco Italiano, also inside Westgate, holds the same distinction for Italian food in the city. Not the top steakhouse near the convention center. The top steakhouse in Las Vegas, full stop, according to the platform's rankings, and it is a walk across Paradise Road rather than a drive down the Strip.

That single detail reframes what "going out" means if you live at Turnberry Towers. For years the assumption was that the best table required a monorail ride or a rideshare south toward Caesars or the Cosmopolitan. The data now says the highest-rated dinner in the city is closer to your front door than the elevator bank in your own tower.

The monorail question finally got answered

If you have lived at Turnberry Towers for a while, you may remember the unease around 2024, when reports surfaced that the Las Vegas Monorail could be forced to shut down by 2028 once its aging parts supply ran out. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority pushed back on the timeline but did not fully explain how the system would keep running. In May 2025, LVCVA chief Steve Hill announced the monorail had secured $12 million in funding to stay operational through 2035, with the new stadium project across from MGM Grand cited as a major reason for the investment. The Westgate station, a short walk from Turnberry Towers, stays exactly where it is.

A new voice at the International Theater

Westgate's International Theater carries decades of history, but it also just added something current. Frankie Moreno debuted a new concert experience called Vegas Remastered there on February 26, 2026. The debut sold out, and a second performance followed on May 28, 2026. None of this required leaving the neighborhood. It required the neighborhood to finish catching up to itself: a transit link that shortens the walk into a tunnel ride, a convention campus that traded its legacy halls for a modern entry sequence, a kitchen across the street that now outranks kitchens two miles south, and a transit system whose future stopped being a rumor and became a funded plan through the next decade.
